asia divided about cannabis

Why is Asia divided on a Green Light for medical Marijuana?

There are many possible answers to this question.

Corruption is the first that comes to mind, followed by misinformation and ignorance and finally stubborn stupidity. But in reality, it could be a mixture of all three!
Yet In recent months and we have seen some major progressive steps towards legalizing medical cannabis in the Asian region.
For example, Thailand has fully legalized the medical use of the plant.

Thailands take

They are proposing a bill to allow their citizens to grow it themselves.

They have decriminalized certain concentrates and have a bright future in terms of import and export.

However Thailand is not the only country in the region that has used this plant as medicine and in cooking for a very long time.

Ancient History with the plant?

In China the tomb of a supposed witch doctor was exhumed dated to be 2700 years old. He was found to be holding a number of narcotics in her medicine pouch.

Dating even further back in Asia According to Dr. Merlin, cannabis seeds attached to pottery shards found in Japan. It have been dated to roughly 10,000 years ago.

Why deny science and research?

So it begs the question. What is the real reason behind these countries and their government’s decisions to make this plant?. Which has had an incredible history of providing great medical benefits?

A plant that could potentially create an income for poor farmers and families. Also it could potentially boost the economy if handled correctly.

A plant that could cure and treat a long list of pains and ailments.

We have at our fingertips, an embarrassment of riches, in terms of evidence of what this plant can do, so corruption on a grand scale is the probable answer.

Wake up and smell the cannabis

Let’s not forget the likes of the countries who recently opted out of the vote to make cannabis a lower schedule UN narcotic. Many of whom are known to be corrupt states and have never-ending scandals in the news of corrupted officials.

Singapore, one of the richest countries in the world and one the most advanced in the medical field. Why would they refuse such an amazing alternative medicine?

They say zero tolerance on drugs, what about common sense?

A country that prides itself on its advanced modern medical ability also shows how it is controlled by the ever-growing big pharma companies that fill the cities offices.

Singapur and cannabis don't get along

Malaysia, an Asian country that has some of the most strict drug laws for cannabis, sentenced a medical doctor to death. He prescribed to cancer and terminally ill patients cannabidiol.

A little draconian, considering they allowed pharmaceutically prescribed and manufactured cannabis treatments for a young girl with severe epilepsy.

Also, it is well known, Malaysia has long been corrupted by the oil and logging industry it wouldn’t come as a shock if big pharma got to them too.

The contradictions to me spell out bribery and corruption, although it seems the big pharma companies are fighting a losing battle and the real reason they can’t make it an even playing field is that you can’t put a patent on a plant.
