Thai Nurse: Cannabis-infused menu or normal menu sir?

Thailand: Tip of the spear

The Kingdom may not be the most forward-thinking country in the world, but when it comes to cannabis it’s looking like they are leading the way in the region.

Thai hospitals have recently started infusing the hospital food with cannabis in an attempt to aid recovery while keeping the patients relaxed.

Patients give it the green light

The feedback from patients has been great after people had ordered and consumed the “giggling bread” & “joyfully dancing salad”.

Thailand recently made some major changes to its stance on cannabis last year, passing laws that allow the growth of medical cannabis for use and research – eager to capitalize on the multibillion-dollar industry.

It also seems the country is on the brink of allowing its citizens to legally access the plant as a medicine, and why not?

Its a highly sustainable medicine so versatile we don’t even know of all the things it can heal and treat yet.

In recent months Thailand introduced a cannabis tour, allowing tourists and Thai’s to visit the country farms where plants are growing.

The plant itself was finally removed from the kingdom’s narcotics list last month. Which means licensed providers – like hospitals – can now use its leaves, stems, and roots in food.

Can the roots and leaves get me high?

Which is exactly the ingredients that can be found in these hospital dishes, but don’t get your hopes up, concentrated cannabis oils or top-shelf flower being sprinkled into your salad is a long shot away, but don’t cast your doubts on the roots shoots, and leaves as each provides their own unique benefits through their interaction with the endocannabinoid system.

Despite it being rather difficult to visit Thailand right now, it is great to see cannabis being used and seen in a new light by the Kingdom, bringing back culture and tradition long lost to the war on drugs.
