Thanks to Health Minister Stephen Donnelly. Who was allowing a temporary delivery service due to COVID, for minimizing the amount of international travel. That takes place and ensuring that patients still have access to their medications.
This service to help licensed medical professionals obtain cannabis legally for patients has been so popular that it is now here to stay.
“Many patients and their families have shared stories with me and with my Department officials about how this initiative has greatly improved their lives.” Donnelly stated in an official statement on the Irish Department of Health website.
He also shared his lovely feeling of making this change possible for Irish citizens. “I am very happy that these problems are now a thing of the past for them. They will no longer need to travel abroad to pick up their prescription cannabis products. Instead, they can focus on their health and well-being.
The well-being of patients and their families comes first and I am pleased to assure you that you will no longer have to fill your prescriptions in person. “
NEW ACCESS TO MEDICAL CANNABIS IN IRELAND
Access is still to be improved since it is practically new, since it only works since April.
Most legal patients in the state already use the Transvaal pharmacy based in The Hague in the Netherlands.
This is the new way to administer legal drugs to your patients, who are licensed.
At the moment, cannabis licenses will continue to go through the Department of Health, and only patients with special permits will be able to access the medical cannabis provided to them.
