Military, UFC, Sports and CBD

Living in the sports world, especially speaking at a professional level. Means living in a routine with muscle pressure, and therefore a continuous physical effort.

This means that athletes need to relieve pain, or even relax their muscles on a daily basis. That is for sure, that doing sports, eating healthy, living a healthy life and mixing it with chemical pain relieving pills makes little sense. It affects the body negatively. That’s why, natural alternatives will always have priority, such as CBD, which comes from cannabis.

We know that, CBD is legal in many countries for medicinal terms. And thus, be able to reduce seizures in epilepsy, or have a less stressful life when you suffer from chronic diseases. Even depression, anxiety.

But if we think about it, everything is included in a medication focused on the most psychological pain. And the physiological pain? Well, CBD obviously helps combat such pain, although sport and its regulations are somewhat uncoordinated at the moment. That is why, many athletes or even military personnel, want to opt for this natural medicine: Cannabis.

Military and cannabis, why not?

CBD AND THE RULES IN SPORTS

Following the general guideline, athletes can use CBD products that contain less than 0.3% THC. Although if the THC level in the urine is higher than 150 ng / ml. The drug test will be considered positive.
CBD is the only cannabinoid that athletes can use. The use of any other cannabinoid is punitive. Synthetic cannabinoids are also prohibited.

However, the lack of regulations leads to the production of unreliable CBD products on the market. Even if the product has been advertised to include less than 0.3% THC, it may contain higher levels of the psychoactive compound, leading to positive drug tests.

As long as the athlete uses CBD products that are low in THC, or the THC has already been removed from the system, it does not violate the anti-doping rule. As we saw in the NBA article, many athletes have been using this method for a long time. and it has always helped them in the professional field, as a physicist.

And speaking about NBA, I would like to highlight the fighters of the UFC, a contact sport, which suffer great physical pain. Did you know that UFC fighters use various CBD products for pain relief, during or after fights? Since CBD is a non-psychoactive pain treatment, WADA allows combatants to use products derived from it. But they are prohibited from consuming any other cannabinoid. If wrestlers test positive for THC, they will be punished accordingly.

Contact Sports use CBD for pain relieve.

Is the use of CBD allowed in the military?

Coming out of television sports and recreation. But even so, without leaving aside the physical effort and pain that goes with it, I will mention the military. Although the use of CBD is legal in the US, US troops cannot use products derived from hemp or cannabidiol.

At the federal level, two services of the Department of Defense have issued guidelines on the restriction of the use of any type of CBD products. The main reason for this is that drug tests cannot really differentiate. Whether an individual used marijuana or CBD that contains traces of THC.

As we have been able to appreciate, there are still many injustices depending on the sport you practice. Even if you are a military man, although all of them are encompassed by physical pain and the daily use of medication.

Let’s hope it changes as quickly, as is happening in the political arena, and that all people, already suffering from psychological or physical pain, will be able to use CBD freely.
