How CBD works in our body?

CBD is leaving us speechless with its incredible healing properties. If you take a look at previous articles in medicine you will see that CBD can help with emotional problems, such as depression and chronic anxiety. In addition to diseases without a cure such as epilepsy, arthritis, fibromyalgia.

It can even slow down and stop cancer pain, protect the brain after a stroke and slow down the progression of Alzheimer’s. And you may wonder, how is it possible that CBD works like this in our body?

Well, this is due to the relationship with our endocannabinoid system.

CBD and the endocannabinoid system

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a psychological system involved in managing our psychology, mood, and daily experience. Its ECS functions are very important as they regulate:

Your mood, sleep, motor control. Also your appetite, having good digestion and immune function.
Increases pleasure, reproduction and fertility, among others.

The body produces endocannabinoids naturally to maintain human health. But when there is a deficiency, the human body needs additional help to maintain the system. Cannabis and CBD come in as natural medicine for this reason.
That is why when the balance in the endocannabinoid system is disturbed, the human body witnesses an increase in diseases and disorders such as migraines, fibromyalgia, etc.

Although this deficiency can be supplemented with plant cannabinoids and CBD products. This allows the body to use more of what is already being produced.

How does CBD work in the human body?

Well, CBD works by increase the production of anandamide. And in increasing dopamine levels that are attributed to pleasure and happiness.
In fact, anandamide is named after a Sanskrit word Ananda which means divine happiness. This is why anandamide is associated with areas of the brain that incite pleasure, happiness, cognitive, sensory and motor functions.

Arachidonylglycerol or 2-AG possess similar properties to anandamide. 2-AG is well known for binding to CBD1 and CBD2 receptors and producing the maximum response.

In addition to TRPV1, a vanilloid receptor 1, it mediates a wide range of therapeutic functions. And regulates the temperature and how we feel pain. When someone consumes CBD, it relieves pain by desensitizing the receptors. And lastly, CBD acts as an allosteric modulator that changes the receptor’s response to a stimulus. CBD is capable of being a negative or positive allosteric receptor modulator.

For all these reasons CBD is a great natural medicine!
