Reddit community on cannabis stock

Wizard of Oz or Wolves of Wallstreet?

Almost everyone has seen or been talking about the GameStop stock situation that took place last week.

Don’t worry for you stoners who didn’t catch the drift, in short pun intended: a bunch of people on Reddit got together and decided to manipulate a stock in order to take advantage of the price gains.

Man behind the curtain says no!

But while in doing so they were also abruptly halted by the big hand of the man behind the curtain, who pressed the stop button stopping tens of thousands of people cashing in on what would have been a very legal maneuver.

This being said, the whole stock market game is a big charade, stock prices with a made-up value to which the value increases, and decreases every few seconds – to which no one can explain how or why…

Sound like a rigged game to you? the wizard of Oz doesn’t seem to think so.

Nevertheless, this was a huge success people did in fact make a lot of money and in a Robbin hood kind of way took it from a bunch of really wealthy people.

Cannabis stock prices fly

It also sparked what could be one of the biggest rallies seen on this ungoverned mess and guess where the Reddit gang decided to strike?

That’s right the cannabis stocks targeting some of the biggest names in the industry.

WallStreetBets subreddit—the forum that birthed the GameStop boom—has encouraged people to invest in cannabis companies over the past week.

Who were they?

They were Canadian weed companies Tilray, Aphria, and Sundial Growers. On Wednesday, stocks for each of those companies jumped by 51 percent, 11 percent, and 79 percent, respectively.

I for one like the fact people are taking advantage of systems like the stock market, which undergo little to no scrutiny, that manage funds so large they could end world hunger in a year.

I do see a problem in a rigged system, whereby when people follow the rules but are still penalized for being successful, spells out to be a dark surreal sense of freedom and opportunity of which is not real.

reddit seem to be a real freedom space
