Snail pace in the United Kingdom

The UK has granted its second license to grow medical cannabis for profit.

It is the second of its kind in the last decade which would not come as a shock to Brits. Britain has had somewhat of a rollercoaster ride when it comes to the legality of this harmless herb.

The good old days

One can remember days when getting caught with a few grams was no big deal, often it would be confiscated and if you showed the police the incorrect attitude, maybe you would be slapped with a fine, and at worse you would be charged with possession of a class C drug.

Since the good old days times have changed and so has the law, cannabis is scheduled as a class B, meaning just possession of pathetic amounts could get you in much worse trouble, it could even cost you your job.

Although the UK and companies within it have been responsible for drugs like Sativex which was a cannabis-derived spray the user would spray into the back of the throat for medical relief.

It has been a long time since we have seen anything legally productive come out of the isles until recently.

The British Isles

On a small island off the coast of England, a stoned throw away from France lays a land with its own microclimate.

And on this land, there is a small company now competing with some of the biggest players not only in Europe but globally when it comes to medical cannabis production.

Mystery Owner

Although speculation is left to wonder on who funds and owns the company Northern Leaf, it is no secret they are well funded and backed by people that hold power, enough to sway a once stagnant market/country.

With the world on the brink of legalization on the grand scale, we will see companies all over the world mushrooming here and there as the market which has a supply problem grows.
