EUROTRACK: Europe’s biggest Drug gang, busted

Europe’s most active marijuana trafficking organization has been dismantled, 110 people have been arrested in an operation coordinated by Europol and Eurojust.

Searches have taken place in Spain and Poland. Almost two tons of ready-to-use marijuana have been seized, approximately 20,000 plants, 91 kg of hashish and, in addition, 43 kg of cocaine. Twenty-six cars, a bus, eight lorries, eight firearms, more than €500,000 in cash and assets worth €5 million have also been seized in the operation.

The operation began in September 2019, in Spain. The Guardia Civil has been one of the main security forces that made up the operation. During the investigation they have collaborated with the Polish Special Division for Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime, allowing them to dismantle an organization that involves mafias in Poland, Bulgaria, Morocco and Spain. Which transported drugs from Spain to various countries in Europe. Once again Spain turned out to be a strategic point for the distribution of substances throughout Europe and the world.

Polish members of the organization based in a luxury urbanization in Estepona, Malaga, took the other suspects to the police. Once under surveillance, they discovered that they had links with other organizations based in Granada, which was the area where most of the marijuana was grown, although they also operated from houses and warehouses in Malaga, Cádiz and Valencia.

Drugs were transported in sophisticated hidden compartments in trucks, cars, and even a bus and drivers were carefully selected to drive to Poland.
