Your cannabis delivered by Uber : a dream coming true?

In an interview with CNBC, the CEO of Uber, Dara Khosrowshahi mentioned that Uber would enter the cannabis business when the law allows it. The delivery of cannabis is already close.

The company positioned itself in the field of delivery during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 and now see a business opportunity in cannabis.

“When federal laws are clear around cannabis, we are definitely going to take a look at it.” says Khosrowshahi.

The legalization of cannabis is in fact on everyone’s lips, with New-York being the most recent state in the US to legalize the substance.

The CEO of Uber mentioned the recent purchase of Drizly, an alcoholic beverage delivery service in the US. Alcohol and food are products that customers order the most and which they want the fastest to be delivered.

Although Uber will remain focused on food and alcohol, cannabis could easily fit in the picture if being legalized.

A couple of days ago, Cannadaily was mentioning to you that cannabis was entering the blockchain technologies with the criptoseeds. In fact, a few weeks ago, Dara Khosrowshahi revealed that Uber could accept Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies as a form of payment.

Cryptocurrencies and cannabis are positioned as two interesting strategies to address in the future.

A few weeks ago, the Mexican Chamber of Deputies approved the legalization of the consumption and sale of marijuana for recreational use. Although the Supreme Court set a deadline for the legalization on the 30th April, the Senate did not endorse the modifications made by the deputies and sent the discussion until September.

If approved this year, soon enough you might get your weed delivered by Uber to your house!
