This was the scene in Tel Aviv when a drone carpet-bombed downtown, although today the locals were thrilled to find cannabis falling to the streets, instead of bombs and bullets.
The drone was launched by activists who seek to legalize the drug in Israel, promising free cannabis from the air on social media.
The Holy land and weed
Israel has long had a relaxed stance on hash and weed both of which are readily available across the country, and in fact walking the streets of Tel Aviv you would struggle not to catch a strong whiff of green at least once or twice on any given day.
Smoking on a park bench or even outside a coffee shop is deemed okay, although it is not legal, the locals will tell you, no one cares.

The birthplace of the discovery of THC
In 1964, at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, Dr. Raphael Mechoulam – along with his colleagues, succeeded in the very first isolation and elucidation of the active constituent of cannabis, D9-tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as THC.
Although Israel is known to be the land of milk and honey, it is not known for being the land of peace, with its long complicated, and painful history, it is a part of the world that could do with more peaceful practices much like what this group has in mind.
