Ondara Directorship has already prepared its greenhouse located in the town of Garray to welcome medicinal cannabis flowers. The greenhouse used to host the largest amount of roses in Europe!
The company, after having carried out an intensive cleaning, will soon be dedicated itself to the cultivation of medicinal cannabis flowers. The cleaning began several weeks ago with the collaboration of the entire staff. The installation of equipment has already begun to improve the security of the entire premises.
Those preliminary steps are necessary for Ondara to receive the permit from the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS). They will then receive the definitive license.
This license will allow the company to start growing the plant for medicinal purposes inside the 3.5 hectares greenhouse.
This new and ambitious project represents an initial investment of six million euros, without counting the reorientation of workers into the cultivation of cannabis.
Once reinstated, the staff will have the opportunity to quality and train in the above skill. In fact, cannabis production requires the development of technical skills and a higher level of qualification. Furthermore, the company is planning on incorporating more staff. The province will not only see cannabis plants flourishing but also job opportunities!
