La Universidad de Cartagena se asoci\u00f3 con la empresa Colombia Cannabis Group para estudiar la seguridad y eficacia del THC en el tratamiento de varias patolog\u00edas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

En los \u00faltimos meses, la exportaci\u00f3n legal de cannabis medicinal ha estado en auge en Colombia. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La empresa canadiense Avicanna, ubicada en Santa Marta, es una de las l\u00edderes de la exportaci\u00f3n de cannabis medicinal en el pa\u00eds. La empresa podr\u00eda aumentar su demanda un 70% en los pr\u00f3ximos meses.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seg\u00fan ProColombia, el pa\u00eds quiere duplicar su exportaci\u00f3n de cannabis medicinal en 2022, llegando a casi 20 destinos en todo el mundo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entre enero y mayo de 2021, las exportaciones de cannabis medicinal alcanzaron 2,2 millones de d\u00f3lares, un incremento de 0,6% respecto al mismo per\u00edodo de 2020. El Reino Unido, Australia, los Estados Unidos e Israel son los principales compradores de cannabis medicinal en Colombia, seguidos de Brasil, Suiza y la Rep\u00fablica Checa. En 2020, las ventas internacionales superaron los 5 millones de d\u00f3lares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVamos a hacer la investigaci\u00f3n en varias fases. Estamos en la fase de extracci\u00f3n y vamos a trabajar con tecnolog\u00edas innovadoras y respetuosas del medio ambiente\u201d, dijo Fredy Colpas, director del grupo de investigaci\u00f3n de la UdeC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La planta de cannabis sativa tiene una clase de compuestos org\u00e1nicos, los fitocannabinoides, que activan los receptores CB1 y CB2 de los mam\u00edferos. Impactan los sistemas nervioso, digestivo y endocrino, entre otros. Los dos compuestos principales son el CBD y el THC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La funci\u00f3n principal del sistema endocannabinoide es regular la homeostasis del organismo. Este sistema juega un papel esencial en muchos aspectos de nuestras funciones neuronales, como el aprendizaje y la memoria, la emoci\u00f3n, el comportamiento adictivo, la alimentaci\u00f3n y el metabolismo, el dolor y la neuroprotecci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los estudios cient\u00edficos han asociado el CBD con el uso terap\u00e9utico del cannabis, mientras que el THC ha sido asociado con el consumo recreativo. Estos compuestos son beneficiosos en el tratamiento de enfermedades del sistema nervioso, trastornos de salud mental, cuidados paliativos, enfermedades digestivas y afecciones que afectan el sistema endocrino.
