Tras la reciente aprobaci\u00f3n en muchos pa\u00edses de los Balcanes y el este de Europa del uso del cannabis con fines m\u00e9dicos y la reclasificaci\u00f3n como \u201copi\u00e1ceos menos peligrosos\u201d hecha por las Naciones Unidas, el primer ministro de Macedonia del Norte, Zoran Zaev<\/a>, ha revelado sus intenciones de convertir las dos ciudades m\u00e1s importantes del pa\u00eds, Skopie y Ohrid, en el nuevo \u201c\u00c1msterdam de los Balcanes\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El siguiente paso que tomar\u00e1 Zev en el camino de la legalizaci\u00f3n del cannabis ser\u00e1 la aprobaci\u00f3n del uso recreativo del cannabis, permitiendo su comercio en los coffeeshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No todo el mundo quiere un nuevo \u00c1msterdam<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Macedonia ya cuenta con 57 plantas de producci\u00f3n de marihuana y se comenta que Zaev posee participaciones (rentables) en una empresa de producci\u00f3n de cannabis. Uno de los argumentos que ponen en tela de juicio sus principales opositores, la extrema derecha del pa\u00eds, con Vlatko Gjorcev, l\u00edder de IMRO, como abanderado. Adem\u00e1s tambi\u00e9n alertan de los posibles efectos adversos que podr\u00eda tener el uso recreativo del cannabis en la salud f\u00edsica y mental de la naci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El plan se anuncia con dos prop\u00f3sitos principales: como una medida para abrir nuevas v\u00edas de negocio que reduzcan las ganancias y ayuden a controlar el mercado negro. Y en segundo lugar, se plantea como un est\u00edmulo para fomentar el turismo, teniendo en cuenta que diversos estudios apuntan que el turismo orientado al consumo de drogas va a escalar posiciones en los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Como confiesa el mismo Zev, tomar el testigo de \u00c1msterdam y cubrir el vac\u00edo de mercado que parece que va a ceder la capital de la marihuana por antonomasia, ya que el Ayuntamiento de la ciudad ha presentado un proyecto para prohibir la entrada de los turistas<\/a> a los coffeeshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precisamente \u2014tal como informamos en un art\u00edculo la semana pasada\u2014 Femke Halsema, alcaldesa de la ciudad y l\u00edder de la reforma, fij\u00f3 la meta de frenar el turismo juvenil enfocado a las drogas y atraer un p\u00fablico de m\u00e1s alto poder adquisitivo a los que ofrecer otro tipo de reclamos. Ahora es Macedonia quien toma la delantera con Zoran Zev al frente para ampliar las fronteras de una naci\u00f3n que pretende difuminar las mismas con el humo de la pipa de la paz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
