Chicago anunci\u00f3 la condonaci\u00f3n y revocaci\u00f3n de alrededor de medio mill\u00f3n de casos criminales relacionados con el cannabis. El alcalde confirm\u00f3 el jueves el indulto de 9.210 condenas por faltas leves. A su vez, la Polic\u00eda del estado de Illinois ha eliminado m\u00e1s de 492.000 registros vinculados a arrestos por delitos leves con el cannabis como m\u00f3vil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Las acciones llevadas a cabo por Chicago y la Polic\u00eda Estatal vienen impuestas por la ley de Illinois que legaliz\u00f3 la venta autorizada de marihuana a partir de 2020. La nueva normativa impone la eliminaci\u00f3n de 47.000 registros de arrestos relacionados con el cannabis, creados entre 2013 y 2019, antes del 2 de enero del a\u00f1o 2025, fecha que supondr\u00e1 su eliminaci\u00f3n autom\u00e1tica a nivel estatal. Con la eliminaci\u00f3n de los 492.129 registros, la Polic\u00eda Estatal declar\u00f3 haber cumplido con la obligaci\u00f3n legal con cuatro a\u00f1os de antelaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
