{"id":2740,"date":"2022-03-03T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-03T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cannadaily.news\/?p=2740"},"modified":"2022-05-24T13:47:15","modified_gmt":"2022-05-24T13:47:15","slug":"united-states-the-thc-limit-raised-to-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cannadaily.news\/ar\/united-states-the-thc-limit-raised-to-1\/","title":{"rendered":"United States: the THC limit raised to 1%."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New hemp legislation has been introduced in the United States to address the limitations associated with the 2018 Farm Bill which set the THC limits at 0.3%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week, Congresswoman Chellie Pingree introduced the Hemp Advancement Act of 2022, which aims to improve the hemp provisions of the 2018 Farm Bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe 2018 Farm Bill laid a legal pathway for hemp production but created overly complicated regulations and hardship for farmers and small businesses in the process,\u201d Pingree said in a press release about the bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img width=\"640\" height=\"426\" src=\"https:\/\/cannadaily.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/piantina.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3114\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cannadaily.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/piantina.webp 640w, https:\/\/cannadaily.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/piantina-300x200.webp 300w, https:\/\/cannadaily.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/piantina-18x12.webp 18w, https:\/\/cannadaily.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/piantina-24x16.webp 24w, https:\/\/cannadaily.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/piantina-36x24.webp 36w, https:\/\/cannadaily.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/piantina-48x32.webp 48w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am introducing The Hemp Advancement Act of 2022 to eliminate unworkable testing requirements, set reasonable THC thresholds for producers and processors while protecting consumers, and end the discriminatory policy that bans people with drug convictions from growing legal hemp,\u201d Pingree added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This law would raise to 1% the THC threshold authorized for hemp and hemp extracts during processing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bill also provides additional protection for the processing and transportation of hemp that has exceeded the THC limit due to overly favorable growing conditions.
