Tilray<\/a> is one of the largest and most sophisticated producers of premium medical cannabis in the world while Aurora claims it is a pioneer in global cannabis dedicated to helping people improve their health, wellness, and lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACB<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Aurora Cannabis (ACB) <\/a>was once the pick of the litter companies of the cannabis world that looked set to lead the cannabis industry in Canada and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although they have had turbulent times with this recent project win they are set for a promising 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two have been selected as the best companies to supply the first roll-out of medical-grade pharma-supplied cannabis to the French nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tilray said its products are being supplied to French patients for whom existing treatments do not provide sufficient relief from their symptoms, as well as for therapeutic indications, such as neuropathic pain, epilepsy, certain persistent symptoms in cancer and anti-cancer, multiple sclerosis, and other indications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both companies have been chosen as main suppliers for the program. But Tilray<\/a> will also serve as a backup supplier in the event of a shortfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two other cannabis producers, Israel’s Panaxia, and the U.K.’s Emmac Life Sciences were also chosen as suppliers, though Emmac will only serve as a substitute for shortfalls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

French medical program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The program was begun after France was accused of falling alarmingly behind<\/em> in the administration of medical cannabis even though legislators had approved the experiment in 2019. In essence patients were reporting that the medical grade weed supplied by the government was not doing its job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shares of Tilray rose by 119.1% in January, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence, on a slew of good tidings that began the month prior and continued on into the new year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

France although an avid consumer of cannabis, has yet to create its own medical program where it is produced in the country, by the government, so for now, they are outsourcing in order to meet demand and fill the gap where current suppliers have fallen short.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
