Marijuana has been in this world for thousands of years doing its medicinal function as a healing plant.
Unfortunately, it did not always take this credit. And it has been classified as a tough drug, but now this is changing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We know that marijuana has helped people with problems related to anxiety, depression, anorexia, and epilepsy.
And to combat chronic pain such as sciatica, or in this case fibromyalgia. This disease is characterized by generalized musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, poor sleep quality. Also cognitive difficulties, fibromyalgia has no specific causes or a known cure at the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ISRAELI STUDIES TELL US<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

However, according to a new Israeli study, marijuana could be a treatment for fibromyalgia. One of the most common chronic pain conditions in the world. In fact, the researchers found a significant improvement in the patients’ pain intensity. And other fibromyalgia-related symptoms after six months of medical marijuana therapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lihi Bar-Lev Schleider, is one of the study’s lead authors and head of research at the Tikun Olam research department in Tel Aviv.
She says that \u201cIt is commonly accepted that chronic pain can be treated with cannabis, but there has been little evidence to show its role in the specific treatment of fibromyalgia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, our data indicate that medical cannabis could be a promising therapeutic option for the treatment of fibromyalgia. Especially for those who have failed drug therapies.
We showed that medical cannabis is effective and safe when dosed slowly and gradually the study concluded “<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Dr. Iftach Sagy, co-author and researcher at the Soroka Clinical Research Center, explained that the study found a significant improvement in pain intensity. And overall quality of life for patients, after they received six months of medical marijuana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHO IS AFFECTED AND HOW<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

80% of one study participants were women, a proportion that corresponds to the general population of fibromyalgia sufferers.
And fibromyalgia appears to affect about 10 million people in the US and between 3% and 6% of the world’s population.
The National Fibromyalgia Association (NFA) estimates that 75% to 90% of patients are women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


RESULTS OF A STUDY<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study, which included 367 fibromyalgia patients, found that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

81.1% reported the overall success of the treatment;
73.4% reported an improvement in sleep;
80.8% reported an improvement in symptoms related to depression;
61.9% reported an improvement in aspects related to “quality of life”, including appetite and sexual activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Study patients were treated with science-backed varieties developed by Tikun Olam, Israel’s largest cannabis research and production organization. So, as we can see in the studies and from the stories of different patients, cannabis has helped to overcome chronic pain and to live the normal day to day even living with fibromyalgia disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
